Vivid Life Nutrition, LLC was launched by Anna Austin, RDN, LDN. Anna discovered her passion for nutrition at the age of 13 when she found a book in her mother's bookshelf titled "Let's Eat Right to Keep Fit". From her teen to adult years she used her love of nutrition knowledge to gain power over her own struggles with disordered and emotional eating. Her appetite for nutrition knowledge grew and grew, finally leading her to pursue a career in nutrition. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and was awarded Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Nutrition. During her time as an undergraduate student she served as a civic engagement fellow and worked as a nutrition research assistant where she had the opportunity to participate in a pilot research study for the prevention and treatment of hypertension in an at risk population (The Heart of Hypertension Project). From there, she completed a Dietetic Internship through Virginia State University and shortly after became a registered dietitian. Before starting Vivid Life Nutrition, LLC she was a Clinical Dietitian at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, where she spent 5 years providing nutrition care to a variety of populations in the acute care setting including Neonates, Infants, Children, Adolescents, Adults, and Elderly, and provided nutrition counseling in the outpatient ALS clinic. She also served as the Dietetic Internship Site Director for the Clinical Nutrition Department at WFUBMC and is currently an active member of the Dietetic Internship Advisory Committee for UNCG. Anna's nutrition counseling/coaching method utilizes integrative or functional nutrition principles and addresses the whole person, not just their symptoms. She uses up to date, evidence-based information in her approach and presents a non-judgmental attitude toward her patients. She loves working with individuals of all ages and is happiest when providing solutions to nutrition-related problems and empowering others to take ownership of their health. When she is not working, she enjoys being a mom, spending time with her family, being outdoors, exercising, visiting new places, and reading or listening to books about nutrition, the human brain and behavior, and self improvement.
